14 Gears. No Waiting.

Electronic shifting comes to bicycles.

"After trying the system, Jonathan Vaughters, the chief executive of Garmin Slipstream, anticipates that initially it will be most widely used on special bicycles used for time trials, races against the stopwatch, and triathlons."
Not sure how I feel about it.  I'll see where things stand when I finally score a new tri-bike.  In the meantime, a few more hours of training'll benefit me quite a bit more...and cost quite a bit less.  I can do THAT math.
