O.K. Ya got me. I read "fags" in the american colloquial sense rather than the british. I might have looked at it in context. A fag and a pint can work well together. Also fruits (OMG - another american slang word) and veggies and exercise. I am more frightened of twinkies than fags.
Hey Vertical Man,
Your dating yourself if you are calling cigarettes "fags". In this day and age,I believe this slang word is for a "gay" man and I don't mean "happy" either. Just to set you "straight". You might
consider a more political correct
word for cigarette-"cancer stick "
comes to mind.
Well, Anonymous, if you read my post and the linked article to which it refers, you'll notice that my sentence containing the word "fag" was a direct quote, copied verbatim, from the linked article's last sentence. Notice my added quotation marks? That means I'M QUOTING him and his British sensibilities without necessarily ENDORSING his opinion or usage. And I don't need a damn lecture on British colloquialisms.
Don't like the "fag" word? Don't use it. Don't like HIS usage of the "fag" word? Tell him. Don't like my quoting of HIS usage of the word? Don't care.
And by the way, it's "You're dating yourself..." NOT "Your dating yourself..." See, punctuation matters. Learn to write or comment on some other damn blog.
