An eventful day in the Great Suburban Outback. Tri-Daughter #2 called; while driving up here in a snowstorm, she lost control, spun, over-corrected, spun again and ended up lodged firmly in I-94's median, her car undriveable. She's OK, thank goodness. Sheet metal can be replaced and it looks like a whole bunch of it will NEED to be.
Regarding the aforementioned snowstorm, we're now at about 4" and counting. Blech. But I've got some brand new Asics Gel Kayanos waiting for the storm to abate and for my running partner (Camden the Wonder Dog) to return from a weekend in the city with T-D #3.
Meanwhile, between unpacking boxes I've been entertained by loons and kingfishers out on the lake catching more fish than I ever will, several male cardinals competing for prime nesting territory and female companionship, numerous chickadees doing whatever it is chickadees do, a stray blue jay scolding everyone in sight and an unidentifiable woodpecker knocking the stuffing out of a dead elm tree.
Camden got de-balled a few days ago. Maybe it'll calm him down. If not, he's risking having my boot so far up his ass he'll have to cough to take a dump.
Just kidding. I think. Maybe.
