I'm rooting for the New England Patriots to win this Sunday and finish the regular season an undefeated 16-0. Why, VM, you may ask? Why-oh-why?? Oh-me-oh-my!!!
Well, it's NOT that I'm drinking clam chowder-flavored Kool-Aid. It's more because I'm really sick of the '72 Dolphins (the last team to go undefeated) as their "Grumpy Old Bastards" schtick wears increasingly thin. Head Bastard Don Shula can deny their pissiness all he wants but records are made to be broken and it's way past time for old football farts to fade away, especially any/all those living in Coral Gables, FL. I'm just sayin...
UPDATE: Pats won; now it's high time the Grumpy Old Bastards jumped right square on top of history's dustbin.

I agree 100% with you and that damn champagne toast the 1972 guys do.
So how will this play? Pat's tied 16 wins but the Dolphins won the Superbowl in 16 games, the Pat's if they win the Superbowl will have won 19 games. (is that right, head math)
So I doubt with Shula's hubris he will stop the annual toast unless the Pat's win the Superbowl, otherwise can always say, "Yeah they went undefeated in the regular season but didn't go all the way."
