Overheard yesterday at the Steelhead post-race party: a racer from California commenting on how many swimmers he encountered who were, at best, dog-paddling merrily along their way and, at worst, obstacles in the water. "I'm not used to that..." he opined.
I've done my share of dog-paddling and been someone's inadvertant obstacle on more than one occasion. To all you fast swimmers: I'm truly sorry and I'll get you for it if it's the last thing I do!
A minor consolation: us Midwesterners kicked his ass on the bike though that may be due to the number of pelletons at work out there. Where were the course marshalls anyway?
