Trattorias, Apple Pie and Merlot

If my whinefest is starting to bore you, go read Wil's blog.

I hate three kinds of drills: pneumatic, concrete-busting drills on a hot summer day in the city, dentist drills when I'm in the chair and swim drills pretty much all the time. Guess which I hated most today? No, I didn't go to the damn dentist. What're you thinking?

I logged 2,400 yards of closed fist swimming, 100% catch-up drills, counting (and reducing) strokes per 25 and trying to swim 25s with a single breath, to name a few more or less insane assignments. Egads, this better work 'cause I'm not having any damn fun. I wonder if Karyn would find out if I told her I did the drills when I really didn't. Yeah, she probably would. Coaches and trainers stick together and someone would rat me out for sure.

But I got home and my mom (who is visiting from Colorado for a few days) had made 4 (count 'em 4!!!) fresh apple pies. And she took us out to our favorite little trattoria for dinner and a decent Merlot. I'm all better now. You may want to sell your drug company stock. Trattorias, apple pie and the occasional Merlot are miracle cures. I'm gonna kick ASS tomorrow...

Heh - you crack me up. I was wondering where all that traffic came from yesterday. JK!!!!

You deserve the pie and the merlot for that many yards of that mess. Yuck. Better get my act together or I won't be able to keep up with drafting you on that IMMOO swim!
